Do you need to be rescued? Jesus specializes in rescue operations. His heart is to rescue us from sin. As a result, by his grace, we may walk daily in ongoing justification and sanctification.
But, like the prodigal son, we can enjoy riotous living and see no need for rescue. In this state, we are dead. No life exists outside of the presence of the Father.
So how do you know if you’re a prodigal? First, prodigal sons take without giving. Second, they feel no crisis for the lost or the nation. They don’t see that Washington, D.C. is on the verge of death. While fervent Christians band together, sacrifice everything, and pray earnestly, a prodigal finds comfort in a prosperous American lifestyle. Do you need rescue today?
