It’s clear from the story and many other scriptures that Jesus doesn’t come until there is a desperate need for Him and that we have fully humbled our hearts before Him.
The Christian life is NOT about self-improvement but it’s simply about crucifixion and allowing Jesus to make you into a new creature.
It is an absolute necessity to carefully examine our character flaws (which hide our sins, such things as pride, self sufficiency, bitterness, lust, etc.), and take them to Jesus.
The love of God is freedom, not bondage, as we serve our spouses, our workmates and those around us. The key point of the message is that the ONLY thing that matters is faith expressing itself through love.
We’ve had the false illusion that there is a middle ground, where we can worship God and do our thing and we don’t have to make an allegiance to Jesus.
God is no respecter of persons, He can do the same for you that He did for Abraham.
God is calling us to action not passivity as we stand upon His promises!
Is Jesus the source and center in ALL things or are we gods?
